Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Defence Services Staff College and National Defence College. He is a qualified flight instructor and an outstanding pilot. He has over 5,000 hours of flying experience on fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
Not only this, during his career, Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh has commanded an operational fighter squadron and a frontline air base. As a pilot, he led the MiG-29 upgrade project management team in Moscow, Russia. He was also the Project Director (Flight Test) at the National Flight Test Center. Apart from this, he was entrusted with the task of flight testing the Light Combat Aircraft Tejas.
